Valve Covers - 440 & 383 the same?

A friend has a set of 440 valve covers for sale and I was wondering if the would also work on my 71 383.  From what I have figured out so far they should be the same but I wanted to check with the gurus first.

Question 2: Is there any difference in the valve covers between 70 & 71.  He was not sure what year engine they came off of either a 70 or 71.

'70 and '71 valve covers are different in appearance.

Like this year, mine changed from nice shiney chrome, to somewhat dirty and smeared.  Can't wait to see how they change next year.
