440-SIXPACK-What's it worth?
« on: September 28, 2006 - 03:29:20 PM »
What would an all original 440-Sixpack engine be worth? The engine needs overhauled and is date coded 5-69. Out of a roadrunner or superbee. The original Six-Pack carbs have all been rebuilt, aluminum intake, original, and the complete aircleaner, also original.  :dunno:

Have you checked with the Registry for the '69 sixpak cars at http://www.homestead.com/sixpacksixbbl/ ?

The engine would be worth more to the person with the car it came out of than to anyone else.

It's worth what someone will pay. That's a lame answer but it's true. I'd probably pay $3500.00 if I was looking for a date coded engine for returning a 6pak car back to original or as close as possible. It's not that tough to find an engine and make it a 6pak yourself since they are identical all but a few internal parts. Being able to buy all the aftermarket 6pak stuff has helped keep the prices down. Just my  :2cents:

I think if you can find the right guy,  around $2300 is doable in that shape. The down side is, it will cost another $1500 to get it restored properly..lol. I havent seena  complete correct workign set in some time, so that number may be off. But I have seen the intake alone go for $500-600
