Stamped vs. welded 71 Cuda fenders
« on: October 01, 2006 - 10:55:21 PM »
I'm looking at turning some 70 fenders into 71's.  Anyone have an opinion on getting them stamped vs. welding in the pre-stamped patch panels?  Is it worth sending two fenders all the way across the country?  I also assume the paint gets ruined when you stamp them, right?

All opinions aside, bottom line is that if they were mine I'd get them stamped. I'd suggest Jeff Sanich (J&J in CT) for the job.

personally I would not risk shipping a pair of good fender across the country , if they were mine they woudl either dissappear or get run over

Boy ain't that the truth, you must be my long lost twin brother! :grinyes:

*BTW, where are these fenders being shipped from? There's a guy near Monteray CA who stamps them as well, I think his name is Gary James.

I recommend stamped instead of welded. I've seen only good stamped fenders, and only bad welded ones.

If I had known that I would have gotten my fenders stamped instead of welding them. I'm in northern california and I would have driven to Monteray for that.
