Junkyard Score!
« on: October 02, 2006 - 09:42:57 PM »
Just scored a Cuda 3 speaker dash. No big cracks. A couple of tiny tears and small imperfections here and there, but for the most part complete.

For those of you who have seen my last post from this yard in Michigan, bad news. A fire destroyed 5 Challengers, totally ruining them.

There are E body 2 Barracudas left, both totlally disintegrated. 2 good Backglass, some sideglass and trim. that's about it. Some back seats too.

Also some blue doorpanels, some blue rear trim....

Here's a before and after pic.

After: http://www.pbase.com/dmz73/image/67929461

I will be refinishing the speaker grilles tomorrow.

As for going back to the yard, I will have to go back in the spring.

Great before and after shots!
1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

Some were scratched, but some were in goog/decent shape. I will have to make the trip out again with the camera and post some pics. I know that the plastic was still pliable.

There is nothing left of the Challengers. Inly a slightly damaged tailpanel for a 71 Challenger. The rest is melted. Only 2 Cuda's survived the fire. I believe a 74 cuda and a 73 cuda remain.

There are some B bodies left through.

The yard is located in Northbranch Michigan.

That's not too bad . . . I could be there in 1 1/2 hours!!  Wish I had known about the yard last year when I was putting together the convertible cause I sure could of used some odd ball parts.  Still two cudas there . . . good to know!
