Beware-eBay Cuda/Challenger Dash Pad Vendor
« on: October 06, 2006 - 06:07:55 PM »
Bought a dash pad for a 71 Challenger from a guy who uses the handle "nitrospowered" on eBay.  The company, PMI/Ultimate Rides is out of El Paso, Tx and they have regular autions for Cuda/Challenger dashes.  Got the dash and it's very nice, no complaints there.  However, they require a $195 core deposit for your old dash frame.  I returned my cleaned frame to them and two months later still no refund of my core deposit.  They have been putting up smoke and lying to me and won't refund my money.  Currently working with eBay to see if anything can be done.  Since I did receive a product it complicates any claims process.  Beware of this company.  :swear:

I hear ya, I bought a 70 Challenger dash from him, took a while to get the pad, I then sent the old one and eventually got my refund for the deposit. Try to be patient, it should happen but he's slower than tar through a funnel. His replies to emails aren't any better. Good Luck.

I bought mine from him but I really didn't understand the core policy.  I paid $525 I think.  Are you saying if I send him a core I will get $190 back?

Total,
No, I paid $545 for the dash pad + $195 core deposit.  It's really frustrating, but at least others have got their deposit back.  I'll try to get the "Boss" next time I call and hope that breaks something free.  :stomp:

I sent my sorry looking core pad to them first, so I didn't have to go thru any core charge hassle. I didn't have any problems with them. Maybe they just like me.  :naughty:

I sent my core to them before getting the new one and had no problems other than it took along time to complete the transaction.

Wow...

I paid them only $525 and there was no mention of any additional money for a core charge.  I received my pad in about 4 weeks and I haven't heard boo from them since.  Maybe I was just lucky.

Sorry to hear this has been such a hassle for you.

I just emailed them and asked if the $545 included the $190 core charge or if that had to be tacked on at the end. I got two repsonses form two different poeple there in under two hours. I guess they are really fast when it comes to making money just not giving it out.

I have also seen him sell off extra cores on ebay for less then $190.

From what I can gather though he's better then Just Dashes.

well i only had Just Dashes do one for me a 70 one with the three speaker no a/c. I sent them a 71 core with a/c and one speacker
they sent back a perfect pad stiching was nice and straight. as was the rest 100% perfect.
to be homest the padding was built up a little where the VIN went back on so the riveits dented the vin down some. Thinking that was my fault Guess i should have trimed tat area before installing it. hindshight was not there

Ive been waiting over 8 weeks now for the dash that I ordered Ultimate Rides to show up. They lied when they said 3-4 week delivery. And that was the reason I ordered from them instead of from just dashes.

I guess I should knock wood and consider myself lucky. I have 2 ultimate ride dash pads in the box here. I listed 1 forsale on cc.c and I think I sold it yesterday. They look like good pads
