...do you know how many total RT convertibles were made ???....I think the guy said 1161 or 1167, but I don't know where he got his info ???

The number I have remembered for total US production of all 1970 Challenger R/T convertibles  is 1,970 units. Pretty easy to remember.

Very Nice score!! Nice to see there are still some deals out there. Hope you find all the build sheets to match as well.

P.S. the 516 cars built with 383 auto is the number I have as well.

VERY NICE !!!
I am glad to hear a MOPAR guy found it and not just a dealer looking to make a buck and not caring about the car itself.
Lots of Luck---but then again you already seem to have GOOD LUCK !!

......I figure the way prices are going, this may be my last chance to ever own another E-Body convertible...I have seen pure junk sell for way more than what I paid for this car, plus it is deserves a full resto and I have the rsources to make it happen...I must admit the color isn't my first choice, but it ain't my last choice either...it should be quite stunning when finished....

.....the only other E-Body MOPAR I remember owning....I drove the car daily for a summer then sold it...the original color combo was P. Crazy/white top/white int/white Billboards....it went to Washington state in about 1988-89....a few years later I saw it at the MOPAR Nats with the correct colors and a for sale sign of $44K.....I thought somebody was nuts, (probably me for not buying it back and just parking it)

71 - 340 CUDA(all matching numbers and B-Cast sheet)....even had AC and power windows

Congrats! That is an awesome find.  I turned down nearly 3 times that for my 70 convertible smallblock, non R/T.

Hope you bought a lottery ticket too.

I found two 69 1/2 a12 superbees, rusting in a backyard, but I have had no luck getting him to talk $$$.
