73 Cuda progress
« on: October 09, 2006 - 10:26:59 PM »
Don't post very much, but I thought I would share what I'm doing
since I'm soaking up all this wounderful info on the Site.  So many
of you have helped me and you don't even know.  I have been taking
the car apart since I got it in May.  Started doing the bodywork
Monday, and should be finished with it by the end of the week.  I have
never had a car down to just a shell before so C-C.com is a lifesaver.
I'm going to try and post some pics of the progress.  Thanks again to
all of you that post so much helpful info.

Well...I have a 408 stroker with U cast heads in the garage that I got back
from the shop last week.   :ylsuper: Rearend is 3:90 Richmond gears, moser axles, suregrip.  Just painted that today.  I plan to blow the doors off any pukeStang that pulls up next to me, and run it at
the track a lil bit too  :bananasmi.  This is all new to me so I have to read up on
everything I do before I do it.  I didn't do the bodywork, I'm helping him as I learn.

Ty much 8).  My wife said that the floors look silver too, but they are actually black, after the first coat.  I think it showed up that way because of the media that keeps falling every time we turn the car  :dunno:.  The only metal we are having to replace, are the rear quarter skins which we are cutting off Thursday I think, after we hang the doors and get the car back on the ground.  I have Revs how to section saved in my favorites, helps alot, but you sure did make it look alot easier than what it took me to change the rear from drum to disc. :pullinghair:  I'm changing my front discs tomorrow.(If it rains)

Nice progress and I sure wish I could of turned my 70 Cuda on it's side when I painted the bottom. I had 6 ton jack stands with home built extensions to get the cuda high enough so I could lay under it and paint.

Have a few more pics of the car before I had to stop working on it for a week or so.(Had to work a lil bit at my real job) :eek4: I got to work on it some yesterday, and should have some time for the Cuda' next week.  By the end of next week we should have the car block sanded, and maybe even the first coat of paint for the outside body panels.  Will post a few more pics theis weekend, as soon as I get them off the camera.  These pics are right after I got the car back on to the wheels, so we could cut off the quarter skins.  Almost Ready for that new 727 Tac  :ylsuper:
