    I have a parts car my wife says has to go. She will not let me get anything new until I do something with this car. This car is in bad shape, rotted floors, trunk, frame, etc. Some people who have seen this car say it's not worth trying to fix it. I agree.

    This was a 318 car with a 904 trans and a 7 1/4 open rear with many parts MIA. Not a high value car IMO.

    I want to make a trailer out of it. Something like this photoshop picture.

    I will keep the rear suspension. Install a spare tire where the gas tank went. I know it can be done.
    Question is should I cut this car up and do it?  :feedback:

    All I have are some old pics. I will get some new ones tonight.

    This was before The front clip was removed. And I have sold the doors. It is alot worse than it looks in the pics.

    Hi Dave,

    It can be done, at least with a Mustang.

    This is from a pic I took this weekend.  It looks like he basically cut the car from the frnt edge of the rear quarter, leaving the door jamb area intact, cutting also the C pillars.

    The rear springs will have to be rethought as there will be much less weight over the tires.  Maybe a quad shock system can be made so the trailer is not so skittish over the bumps.

    You can also see that the dual exhaust is maintained, also the rear lights probably work also.

    It looks like some sort of tonneau cover is rigged up but a flat piece of metal welded in will work too but you just have  to see how flat that panel will come out.

    You might want to PM moparclown or 71RTSEWagon-Conv to get some ideas.

    Another weird though on this matter.

    The front of the trailer can be used as a "love seat" so you can enjoy the outside air when parked at a car show or something.  In that case the tonneau cover idea needs to be used.

    Made this to get an idea. Not 1/18 scale. It was a 1 /24 scale model I had. A work in progress, still in black primer.

      Is this the car you had in the back yard under a tarp? Sorry I didn't get a look at it, but the rusted out frame rails are what scares me. I do have to say you have a creative imagination.  :naughty: That would be one cool looking trailer if you could pull it off.  :thumbsup:

    I think it would be a cool idea...maybe you could use another challenger that is worse off ? People have done worse things...that is for sure. Good luck.

    Sounds GOOD to me. If the back end is as good or better. Here are some fresh pics from today.

    I still have the original engine and trans under the blue tarp. Pulled about 15 years ago with a bad knock.

    Anyone want to trade? I have a clear Maryland title for this one.  :poopoke:

    Dave,

    I'd be the last person to tell you what to do but I wouldn't make a trailer out of.  Since all the rust concerns you then part it out.  I see a lot of good parts on there.  I know it's pretty stripped but heck there are people like me looking for parts. 

    For all intended purposes I need the vinyl top trim.

    Sorry I should have said I will be removing those parts and many (read that all) other parts as well. I need this stuff too. I will cut this car up and save as much sheet metal as I can. Or I will trade a stripped shell with a clear title and vin tag for another car. I only need the back half.
