    That is insane! Plus all the fees they charge everyone who goes, they make a fortune.

    If you include travel, hotel and food it will be about 20% to buy back your car if it doesn't meet your price.  I hear people all the time say "if it doesn't sell I'll just take it to BJ".  I don't think they have ever sold a car there before.  The real winner is BJ.  Also remeber that your money is held with BJ for many weeks if not months.  They don't just turn around and give it back to you.  It goes through as a sale and the funds can be held for a long time.

    Good luck with your sale and I think you're getting real close to what it will sell for.  Remember last year when "C1run1" was selling a real clean numbers matching 71 cuda for 40K and he couldn't get any buyers... then someone bought it and turned it for 60K!  It only takes one buyer.... hang in there.

    Thanks guys, I also placed it on craigslist.com. I am absolutely amazed at the responses I am receiving off of that site. I talked to a few people tonight about it, all within minutes of placing the ads. Placed them in L.A., San Francisco, Phoenix and Tucson.

    Here's the latest changes for 2007 Barret-Jackson prices. Buyers now pay 10% + fees, Sellers pay 8% + fees.

    Buyers

    Registration fee: $400 if received by December 1, 2006 and $500 if received after December 1, 2006.
    Buyer's Commission is 10%

    Dammn that alot of stuff!  Paying through the nose for everything . . I'm surprised they stay so popular with those prices but then again I'm not that up to date on the going rates??   :dunno:

    The thing is unless a seller just takes the car to BJ and puts it up for sale out in the parking lot, there's no other way of selling it.  The auction "list" was determined months ago from what Larry Mathews told me.   :dunno:

    Fat chance..they have security cruising the area and immediately busting/towing any cars trying to be sold outside of their arena. them boyz might be a lot of things , but they ain't stupid!

    Sellers are only allowed to place cars IN the auction. Parking outside is crazy with most cars parking in large areas of vacant dirt lots. They have security everywhere. You are forewarned that you cannot advertise your car outside at all. They WILL tow it away. They definitely do not mess around on this issue. I wore a T shirt a few years back with a picture of my 1962 Corvette on it and "FOR SALE" across the top of it. They approached me and asked that I get rid of the shirt or leave. I told them that I was unaware of the rule and that it was the only shirt I had. I actually knew a person selling their car there and because we were together, they gave me a free Barret-Jackson shirt on the condition I would wear it instead of my T shirt.

    Since Dec 3rd. I have had a person trying to buy my car and claiming to be shipping it to Africa. Yep, a scam. I told them they'd have to pay with wire transfer or cash in person. They surprisingly agreed to the wire. Of course I then received a bogus email for $3000 above my price. They then wanted me to pay the transport company 1/2 the money. The wire was "pending" until I paid the company. The company would only accept Western Union wire. Knowing this was a scam obviously, I sent no money. I contacted the FBI and we tried to get them to show up and pick up the car, promising I'd pay them the $3000 cash upon pickup. They insisted on receiving the $1500, so I lied and told them that I mailed out a western union money order. Of course they insisted it must be wire. I told them that western union is good either way. They then asked me to pay the $1500 wire and that they would return the money order when they showed up for the car. Haha! Right! I asked how they would get me the check in hand the following day when they were supposedly picking up the car, if I had mailed the check to Africa. How can the be so stupid! The following evening they emailed me saying they had received my check and promising to return it to me, all I needed to do was pay the $1500 wire so they could set up the pickup. I laughed because I had never sent them a check and now they were claiming to have it in hand. I was able to come up with various emails, phone numbers, and even some addresses. The FBI is now investigating and trying to move in on them. Phone numbers were from here in the states. Be careful guys. Cover your butts with these people. There were lots of clues; broken english, misspelled words, name changes on the bank, and of course the dropped calls when they called me. On some days they called as many as 40 times! Perhaps there is some good to the auctions, at least we wouldn't have to deal with these type of people.

    Had the exact same things happen to me with an old 4runner I was selling, these guys were from Nigeria, Sent me a Bank of Florida check, and it came from Georgia or something like that. I took the check to the bank and they laughed (I did too knowing it was a scam). I saved the check I should scan it, looks like it was cut with scissors..   :roflsmiley:

    Yeah I was kind of hoping to get a check like that too. It'd be something to keep around for laughs. These people are pretty obvious, I don't dare point out their mistakes though....we need to be able to tell which ones are real and which ones aren't. It was fun messing with them though.
