Gorgeous car. Hope youi get it sold. Watch out for Craigs list, as there are a lot of scammers on there.

I heard that when you put your car in the BJ auction, there is no reserve, and the car gets sold, for the highest offer, period. Does anyone know if that is true?

That would be if you choose to sell the car without a reserve.  I believe the sellers fee is higher when you do have a reserve.

I'll prolly be corrected or told I'm wrong but from what I understand the Arizona auction is "no reserve" period.  You sign the title over to Mr. Jackson and if your car doesn't meet "your" reserve and you're taking a hit, is when sellers sometimes buy their car back.

You may be right.  I was stating normal auction rules.  I went to the B-J site and did not find a rule on no reserve but , every auction was no reserve.

Yes, I totally agree with most auctions being "reserve", but the big Circus in Arizona is not one of them.
The other ones represented by BJ, maybe so, I couldn't tell ya'?

That's correct, Arizona is a no reserve auction. I was planning on puttong it in there, but when I tried to register it a month ago, they were all filled up. Then I found out about their higher commissions this year, and it was definitely out. They have some great cruise nights out there the week before with all of the high dollar million dollar cars showing up. Everyone takes cash and notarized titles, ready to sell or buy should the opportunity arise. It's a heck of a show, both cars and people. Watched a man buy his 16 year old a Shelby Mustang last year. How'd you like that to be your first car? It seems to be doing good on ebay, but if it's still around, I will try to sell there. If it doesn't sell, then perhaps it's a keeper. I have been contacted by Ceasar's Palace in Vegas. They'd like to place it on their museum floor. It's kind of scary having your investment in another state though. Besides, then I wouldn't be able to drive it.

Not unless they're going to pay you to place it there. I know that the people who own movie cars like the Batmobile and Kitt get paid every time they take it someplace. People get paid when their cars are used in music videos. You shouldn't be any different if they want to display your car. THey're doing it to generate income, so some of it should go to you.

good point. I was thinking it might free up a space for another car. You have to be careful with all of the scams nowadays. It just so happened when they emailed me a coupe of weeks ago, I had relatives in Vegas for the weekend. I made a call and they went and spoke with the guy in person. I then spoke with him over the phone. I had to make sure it's legit.

I have had my car "on loan" before.  If you do it make sure you have a copy of the insurance they put on your car.  Make sure the payout for whatever damage or loss suits you and most important make sure YOU are on the policy to recieve the money in the event of a claim.  If they won't do these things you open yourself up to loss.  They will probably add a rider to their insurance policy and you can keep your own policy also.

I agree. Make sure the coverage suits you. Suppose someone drops something on the car, or something falls against it (like one of those poles that are used to rope off cars). It may just seem like a paint chip to them, but to you it may warrant a complete paint job because you don't want to wind up with a touch-up, or a "blended" paint job, when you started out with a perfectly matched paint job.

Wow, I would have thought it would have been bid higher then that....I guess the auction ending on Christmas couldn't have helped much.   :dunno:

Yeah I had tons of people tell me that they would have bid but no money due to Christmas. I got tons of trades + cash offers though. I may take one of those or take this car to Scottsdale in a couple of weeks. A couple of them look really tempting.
