Ouch.....
« on: October 11, 2006 - 05:25:20 PM »
Had my left hand bitten by a dog today.  Surprisingly, it was a dog that I've known for a few years now, and never once has it even growled at me.  So my left hand is pretty much out of commision for a day or so.

What's worse, however, is that said dog was NOT current on it's rabies shots.  So now I have to wait 10 days to find out if I need to get treatment for rabies or not.  Joy....

That sucks. the only time I have been bitten was by my mom's cat. It was in a fight with another cat and got mad at me when I tried to break it up.

What else is going on? I have not seen you here for a while.

Heal fast!

Bummer Ghost. I've only been bitten once when I was about 5 or 6 by a Rottweiler right on the chops (cheek).

But, that was my fault, I was hugging his head.

I've been bitten 3 times in my life.  First was by a c0cker spaniel puppy when I was 5 or so (ripped my ear open, dog was put down).  Second was by my current dog, when I accidentally stepped on his leg, trying to bring him home after the leash broke when I was walking him (I deserved that one).  And then, this time.

Ouch is right! Is your tetanus shot up to date?

I am hoping the dog had its shots too. The last thing we need is a rabid Ghost running around on Halloween.   :22yikes:

Try not to look at the full moon, just in case.

This might make for a cheesy horror flick though. Hmmn.....

All kidding aside, I am hoping for no rabies and that it heals fast.

Got that shot the same time they put the stitches in my hand, so I'm good on that count.

Wow, hope you heal up quick.  Hopefully that pouch didn't have rabies!

Sorry to hear that Ghost.  What did they do with the dog, did it have to be put down to be tested for Rabies?  I hope you are feeling better soon.
