My 70 challenger project
« on: October 11, 2006 - 10:07:28 PM »
Heres some pics, linked to the ebay auction... got it locally, about 50 miles away.  Not quite as solid as it appears, but should make a nice triple black ta clone for next summer

If it quits raining tomorrow, new pics to follow!  Hoping to get a new roof this weekend also locally.

Hi SilverChally.  Just saw your newbie post...welcome, again!  She really doesn't look that bad.  How are the frame rails?

If you take a look at some of the other projects going on, you'll start believing you have a beauty queen in your garage!

Yeah, the one I just saw makes mine look too easy!  Worst part is the a-pillars are shot and rear window opening.  DS rails both need a small patch, but are suprisingly solid for a PA car.  I bought it because it was very solid underneathe, will need a trunk, front floor pans, and work under the rear seat.  The inner fenders and firewall are nice.  I have whats left of a cuda to repair the upper cowl/windshield area.  Just a triple green car, thinking black now since it is an ac car, so I wouldn't roast in summer!

Thanks for the welcome.  I may have a u-code challenger showing up soon too, but to do for someone else.  Glad to find a site like this!

Forgot to mention, ps 1/4 extension, and wheelhouse are actually good, ps need the lower rear and extension, but first mopar I owned that actually had a good quarter!!! :jumping:

Hey SilverChally,
Welcome aboard. Where are you in PA? I live in Harrisburg and am starting my 73 Cuda project. I saw a Challenger at the sandblaster in Shippensburg this week, not yours is it?

Hi,

I'm originally from the west side of town(Robinson Township). I make it back there often. Maybe I can catch you on one of my trips.  :burnout:

This car came from McKees rocks, they had a couple cudas inside and another in the lots.  I'm like 50 mins from downtown.  Drive the challenger, I need more motivation to get my uncle to drive it his 70 vert!

Holy Cow!!  :o

The mailing address for my Mother's house is McKees Rocks, although it is Robinson Township. Small world.  Where are you? It doesn't state in your profile. I'll drive my Chally up there. Heck, whats a couple of hundred spent on 93 octane gas?   :faint:

Although I only need the ds quarter lower section and ds extension, maybe I'll do another soon  :screwy:  Figure good trade bate as my uncle has parts I need and his 71 vert needs this stuff :woo:

Updated pics, replaced the a-pillars, front top roof opening, the cowl section where the windshield goes, and replace the driver side door jamb, partial section of ps.  Weird where these cars rust!  Been welding and grinding for the past week.  Parts came off a parts car 74 cuda that was rusted out, but no v-top saved the roof parts... not sure about the cowl part, but the rest of the cowl was junk.  Has been alot of work, need to do rhte top of rear roof window opening area and ds quarter/ext, wheel house needs some work.  Dug out the rotisserre today, so once I get a little more done I can get it off the ground and really go to town!
