1970 Challenger Mirrors
« on: October 12, 2006 - 01:55:22 PM »
I am going to the Moultre swap meet in south Ga next month and need to find a pair of painted mirrors at a decent price ( under 300 bucks for pair if poss)

was wondering if any part numbers cast in them and if so what are they?

Thanks,
Stuart :clueless:

Stuart,

I can't answer your question. I just want to wish you luck trying to find a decent set of 70 Mirrors for $300 or less. I didn't even bother, and used 71-74 Mirrors instead. I have to ask why you need the numbers? The 70 mirrors were a one year only thing, so I think they would be easy to spot with the shorter base.

Hope you have success, but doubtful.  I paid $250 for just passenger mirror, 5 years ago.  If I needed both I also would just use the 71-74 style.

I guess I need to use 70 model mirrors as holes already there and I understand the 71 late ones have a diff base so holes won't line up...right?

the 71 mirrors have the holes in the same place , but the base is longer so it doesn`t look correct

I just bought a pair of mirrors from P.G. Classic but decided to go with the 71 mirrors to save some $. My Cuda doesn't have any mirrors on right now but does this mean that i can find the original holes and the 71 mirror will fit?

Is there any other model that used the same mirrors, or bases?  The A-body sport mirrors, maybe?

A body mirrors sit on the top of the door, not on the side like E-bodies, so the bases are a lot different.
