Has anyone sucesfully removed the heater box on a 70 'Cuda with A/C? If so. How is it done. What bolt, etc do I need to remove. The reason I'm asking is because I'm replacing the heater core, as it's leaking. Illustatiosn would be nive as well from the parts manual. I have the service manual and there no images on how it's done.

The studs that hold it are on the firewall area.  I pulled the dash before I tackled it.  Not that difficult . .  :2thumbs:

Besides the two obvious bolts on each side above the kick panels, how many and where are the other screws/bolts that hold the dash in?  Do you have to remove the instrument panel first?  Mine is a '72.

Thanks

I ended up removing the dash as ther are one bolt you can't get to without the dash out of the way.

When I removed my heater/AC box I found that the plastic defrost ducting was not secured to the front cowell at the top, only the one stud/nut bottom center was holding it in.  As such the ducting was hardly aligned with the slots in the dash pad.  :eek7:  Anyone else run into this?

I know the car has had front collision work done in the past, but there were no screw marks on the ducting to indicate it was ever secured at the top, and the screw holes in the sheetmetal were unscored.
