I was racing in Clay City KY with my tube chassis 85 Daytona when the guy who's dad restored the Mopar Missle car wanted to trade me the last Sox/Martin Hemi Dart made for S/S it was a 75 Dart all restored. He would take the hemi out and I would take my 451 out of my Daytona.I turned him down! I didn't want to own a museum piece.I wanted to race.Last time I heard car went for something like 100G's.Oh well you win some and you lose some.

I cant remember how many goofy offers I've had for Mopars over the years. I have a standard line I use when someone asks..."is it for sale?"  I always answer   "everything is for sale for the right price"  They will usually ask..."Whats the right price" and then I hit em with a BIG number...that usually gets a "WOW, thats way too high" response. I then add  "you wanted to buy it, I dont want to sell, so if you want it, you pay my price"  That usually makes them go away.

Most unusaul deal I've made?  Tradred a restored AAR Cuda (red/red 4 speed) for a survivor 70 Challenger R/T droptop (440-auto) and $3800 cash and a pair of 1/2 carat diamond earings for my wife (the guy was a wholesale diamond seller). Challenger was sold to buy the house I now live in, but the wife still has the earings!

Every show that I go to with my 67 GTX people look at the window sticker and see
$3,700.00 and out of the goodness of their hearts and even though the car is 39 years old they are willing to give me sticker price for the car. I get about 10 people a show--every show and it gets old after a while so now I just say that the sticker has a typo on it and there is another 0 missing from the price.

And they all think that they are being so original offering to pay you the sticker price. You must spend the entire day rolling on the ground in fits of laughter.
