Hemidog's endeavor.
« on: October 16, 2006 - 02:00:17 PM »
Here is a quick recap of where this has come from and where it is now.
I have been working on this car for a little over two years.  Most of the paint and body work is finally done and things are starting to go back together.

Recently, I finished the hood after converting it a second time to a shaker hood.  First time using a crappy kit and the second with Harm's awesome kit!
Now, I am trying to finish the little pieces, like the mirrors, grille, and bumpers.  Plus, I am wet sanding and polishing.

Last week, I got news about my motor.  All the parts are in.  Machine work should begin in two weeks, followed by, blueprinting, final assembly and dyno.  In the mean time, I have pictures of some of the parts.  :grinyes:

Oooo.... I also found out I am going to get a set of new throttle bodies from FAST instead of those from MSD!

Wow....   It has been a long time since I have posted an update to this.    Time slips by so quick with kids!!!

Anyway, I have actually been doing a bit of work to my car over the last several months.   In that time, I have hung the full TTI 3" exhaust system with Hooker Aero Chamber mufflers, plumbed the fuel lines, plumbed the power steering, worked out a oil line routing issue, plumbed the AC, and worked on buttoning up the electrical.
Last night I put power through the electrical system and started to work out issues regarding the lighting.  Luckily, that has gone really well with no big issues.  (Just had my turn signals reversed, both front and back!  :screwy: )

At this point, I have about 70% of the electrical hooked up, but I have say it felt good to finally see some sign of life pumping through the car after SEVEN years!!!!!  :faint:   It kills me to realize it has been that long since I got the car and it has yet to come to life.    :clueless:

By my estimate, there is still about 15 hours of work to do in prep before finally trying to fire up the engine.  A lot of precautions I want to take, since  it has been sitting so long.   :banghead:

One thing I do have a question about is regarding priming the oil pump in the Hemi.   Are there any tricks to get the distributor gear out to put the priming shaft in?  :dunno:
