    VIN check for 1973 'Cuda

    Is there a way to check the VIN on a 1973 'Cuda to see it's history?  I tried CarFax and others like it but they only go back to 1981.

    I'm about to purchase a '73 'Cuda (Yes, my first one!!  :bananasmi) and I wanted to see if I could could check the history first.

     You can check the found section on my site for the VIN to see if I have anything here for it. Go to http://www.hamtramck-historical.com/found.shtml , scroll down and click on the 1973 Hamtramck section to take a look.

    Sweet!  Thanks for the link!  I found it, but it says in the Description 'Misc. prior history from 1978-1992'

    What does that mean?

    I wish you luck, but that is a TALL order. I would love to know mine. I guess the first thing to do would be to go to the last State the car was registered in, and see if they can help you. Maybe they can tell you previous owners and such? As for Carfax, NO, that won't help here.  :grinno:

    It means I have some history on it from that time period. Call with the VIN and I can pull the file and read it to you so you know what it says before you buy the car. 907-225-2709  :cheers:

    Sure thing.

    PM with the VIN and I can pull the file and have it ready when you call. All the 1973 files are upstairs so it will save you a few minutes on your long disance bill if I grab it first.  ;)

    I have a 70 chally conv. and I just checked the registry for Hamtramk like RDF did but can't find anything listed for my car.  Is this a dead end or is there hope for some history from a different source?  Any guidence would be appreciated.
