833 transmission ID question.
« on: August 03, 2003 - 08:27:52 PM »
Hi all,

I have 2 4 speeds that I'm trying to find out a bit more info on.  They are both long tailshaft models with two shifter mounting flanges ( B & E ).  On one the holes for the E-body aren't drilled and tapped, the other is.  Both have the number C-13546 on the case.  The IBR ( input bearing retainer ) is 5.125"  leading me to believe these are 833 OD trannys.  Did they come with long tailshafts or did someone already convert these ?

Thanks,

P.G.

the onlt 833 to use the 5.125 brg retainer was the OD , the front shift lever will point down instead of up too .
The long shaft OD was available in trucks & vans until 93

Thanks Chryco,

Only one had the shift levers on it, one did point down ( not sure which one ).  Also the 3rd. gear looks pretty small.  Now to find the time to rebuild one  ;D
