Looking back over this r15303 do you have a hardtop or convertible?  If it is a hardtop your parts would be correct.

Tuff wheel was never ?? a factory option on any E body.

hmmmm are you SURE about that????? I have a book called "Dodge and Plymouth Muscle Car RED BOOK" and it says that the Tuff wheel WAS an option for the 1970 RT with the code of S84 for the price of ............a whopping $19.15!!!!! Also I verified this with a buddy of mine who works for and HAS worked for chrysler for years!!! I also believe it WAS an option in 71 but I can't find it in the book!! so I won't say that for sure!! So I have to wonder where you got your information from????   :clueless:

Also I realize you guys are talking about 70's but I will add that my 73 has white interior and MY a-pillars, visors, seats and door panels are white and my kick panels, dash and console are black!! not too sure if this means anything? but thought I would add it!! I thought maybe this would help!!

My '71 Challenger still has the original interior, so I hope this is the picture you were looking for.

That is correct.  Dp yourself a favor and get a Chrysler parts manual.  It has the correct info in it and you won't have to rely on what people guess it should be.

Where did you come by this information?  Just curious.

I believe that would be factory documentation.

You should have taken the money that you spent on that book and put it towards real factory documentation.  All the errors that are in that book makes its creditability zero.

Do you know if the tuff wheel was an entire year option?  Why does the red book say it was only available on the Challenger and not the Barracuda and only in 1970?  How many E Body broadcast sheets have S84 on them?  What pieces of factory documentation shows a tuff wheel available on any model or year E Body?  Before trying to change history it would be a good idea to find out what the real history was.

As far as my question goes I was really just curious. Directing someone to Chryslers manuals is always a good idea. You are coming off hostile while sharing information.  Is this really necessary?  :2cents:

Can I pose the same question to you? You seem to be the "Galen" of all E-Bodies. I have no problem being proved wrong. It has happened more than I would have liked.  :bricks1: My initial statement was that a Tuff wheel could be had on a 70-71 E-body. Yes, or no? I thought so, but.... I await your evidence.

It's hard to get this big book on the scanner.  I underlined the part in the book.  It is the soft rim steering wheel.  It is not shown for the Cuda/Challenger.  This is a 1970 - 1971 Chrysler parts book that I bought from the dealer where I worked when they converted to computer.  I have found errors in this book before due to the fact the book was written before the cars came out.  Assembly line procedures etc. changed some things on the cars from what the parts book says.  A fine example of things being changed is the 1971 Challenger T/A in the sales brochures that never happened.  I am curious to see if the wheel is on the order sheets that were used by the dealers when these cars were ordered.  I would never say never with these cars.  I had a 70 Challenger R/T with a white leather interior.  I understand you could not get it. The car was special ordered and came with Barracuda front white leather seats. Even if the wheel proves to not be a listed option; it still may have been possible if the "right" person ordered it through the "right" person.
