A curious newbie?
« on: October 19, 2006 - 09:17:03 PM »
Hi all, I found this site from seeing some of yinz guys' cars at Carlisle and the Nats.  Looks like a great site.  One thing that caught my eye on a few cars at the show was a simulated "Shaker hood".  I'm curious who makes 'em?  My Sublime '70 Challenger would sure look good with one.  Maybe once I get done with various car projects I'll reread April's "picture posting FAQ" and try to get my car on here.
..... then again, I'm not sure I'll ever get done.
Thanks
Dan

Hello 1 WILD R/T.  I bought my Challenger at  Spring Carlisle about 12 years ago.  I dropped a 425hp 383 in it, put big brakes on it and swapped a suspension designed for road couse action under it.  It's a nice driver that puts a smile on my face.  I can't justify the cost of all the goodies needed to put a true shaker on the car, although I would love to.  The "simulated shaker" hood was a repro hood with the scoop molded in.  I thought it looked very convincing.  Right now I have a '69 Charger project that is draining my bank account.  There are no "few thousand dollar" hoods in the forseeable future.

Don't feel lonely, I have a 68 Coronet R/T sucking up any extra cash I might find..

Welcome to cc.com!  If you are interested in a shaker . . why not find a flat hood and make your own!  Post pics when you get a chance and enjoy the site!
