Became a Master today!
« on: October 20, 2006 - 04:13:31 PM »
Well I finally got off the lazy wagon and took the test to become a Master Electrician in Massachusetts.  It was a 6 hr test, and pretty tough but I got it done.  Nobody knew I was taking it except my Wife!, I surprised my help and the rest of my family when I told them all this afternoon.  It was a good day.

Thanks everyone.  I've been working hard towards this for some time now.  It doesn't get me more $$ but it allows my business to grow and that gets me more $$$.

Master=Business License-Hiring Electricians

Journeyman=Working License

Plus now I have to pay for 2 License fees!  Oh Well.

Thanks Again

Definately excited!  Almost anti-climatic, Worked for the last 8+ years to get here and now it's here.  There are no higher licenses to achieve in the field, but it is ever changing so it stays fresh.

8000hrs as Apprentice
300hrs school
Test
Journeyman License

2000hrs as Journeyman
150hrs school
Test
Master License

Every Three years for ever I need to go to school for 21 Classroom hours(Updates to the code,safety) Code changes every 3 years!

Thanks I'm pretty AMPed up but not shocked!

Congrats--
Test Suck but when it is all over you feel great !!!
I know when I took my Massage Test to be Nationally Certified I was worried but then again I haven't taken a test since high school ( 30 Years ago) but I was very happy when I passed and it was over..
