Come on over when you get free. Moving takes a lot of effort so I didn't think you'd be done for a while.

Floors are all welded in now. Finishing it up next week end.

Been sanding out the inside of trunk out to prepare for getting primered. Trunk's almost done.
I'm glad now I waited hangin the quarter because getting inside to sand upside down is pretty cramped.

Your project looks very familiar, except you are further along than me. I am still in the stripping down mode and inventoring all parts. Then on to media blasting and sheet metal work. Keep posting what you are doing, it really helps guys like me that are starting their first project and am not sure what to do. I don't have a lot of money to hire stuff out, so i am doing everything myself and learning as i go. Its great to see other people with the same interst and desire to learn.

Today I started sanding the trunk floors. The week before, I sprayed Rust Bullet. I also put in the seam sealer today. This picture was taken seconds before the downpour started. I was putting the seam sealer on as I was getting drenched.

I gotta get a car tent.

Looking good and from someone who just finished one, that trunk refinishing had got to be the worse task. As you spray inside the material comes right back at ya. Also got a little woozy while laying in there brushing Rust Bullet in the hard to reach areas. Even with a respirator there's just no air circulation. Got to be careful.

TC did you notice a lot of surface rust behind the trunk hinge pillars also. I assume the factory couldn't get there spray gun back there either.

Oh yeah, That was really fun laying upside down inside sanding with the rolocs...Not!!  I'd hit an edge and they would be toast. So I kept about 4 or 5 next to me and then if I blew one out, put another on. I was able to get into the far back areas and get it sanded off.

At first attempt I brushed it on but didn't like the way it was laying. Kind of lumpy in some spots even when I tried to keep it to a minimum on the brush. So I ended up sanding it all back off. Switched over to spray gun and reduced it a hair with tolulene. Made a big difference.

Yesterday putting on the seam sealer, and I couldn't believe how strong an odor it had. 3M brand.

Looking Good T.C.
I should stop in and see you sometime when I'm down in the south bay.
I've never seen a e-body disassembled in person.

With the trunk area done now, I have moved onto working on the under-carriage.

First things to do are trial fit and my new torque boxes and modify US Cartool subframe connectors to fit.
The amount of rust is minimal so I feel it might be worth just doing it myself.

With the cool fall air comes a relief now working outside.

I remember those days, lots of fun stripping that down, your metal looks pretty clean shouldn't be too killer! Rich.
