Picked up the metal to make the brackets for the rotisserie yesterday. But am too weak still from the flu I had last week to do any work this week end.  :puke:      Raining besides.

The good news is that I found a flat cuda hood on Craigslist today and the guy even delivered it over to me. I'm so happy that my flat hood hunting days are over.

I finally got the right size tubes after going twice to Metal Supermarkets. Bought too big around on the square tubes the first time.

They cut some plates along with the tubes for me. Then went back, I welded and drilled out the holes to mount them.

After that, I began work on the wheel well area that is all butchered up. I made record time separating it from the body compared to what speed I was used to working on it at.

After seeing what metal prices are at where I bought the metal for the brackets, there is no way I could have built this cheaper for what I paid for it. A year and a half ago, I would say yes.

Hey Mike, that's awesome, too bad you live so dad gum far away. Keep the pictures coming, love to see progress. Keep up the good work. Looks like you've really got the bug, that's a good motivator.

Excellant! it is great being able to move the work to the perfect height/angle, I lucked out & was able to borrow one, can't imagine how the bottom would look if I did that on jackstands! Rich.

I think I have it pretty well balanced right now. But with the door and fender still on it makes it a little heavier on one side.

Still a bit of effort to flip her over. I'm going back with a can of grease instead of the lithium stuff I am using and I think it should get easier then.

I found out that my center of gravity is too low and that I need to raise it up one notch. thats why it's hard to turn.

Today I was able to get the quarter panel off. Not too rusty. But what should I do about the wheel well lip? I would like to re use this skin since it's in pretty good shape.

Its starting to look a little more like a quarter panel again. I made the overlapping edges on the quarter where they meet and rain gutter corner. I plan to fill in over the joining area so it doesn't need to be perfect.

I have a VCR tape on doing Lead solder at the overlap. Anybody ever do theirs that way? Would like some pics if you did.
