Let me see what the steering wheel looks like?   :clueless:    I think I have a driveshaft maybe but will need to look around . . . what is the length you need for that?

WOW 7 year old thread!  Definitely time for another Carlisle adventure and hopefully you stay away from the killer beatles of Pennsylvania . . . lol.

Don't be too upset if Mike doesn't make it to Carlisle next year.  First of all, he and his Cuda are 2798 miles away, and, secondly, he doesn't look anything like his avatar.  :poopoke:

I just found a driveshaft I had hidden away that came of of a 3/4 ton Dodge truck. I suppose it might work? Appears to be a 7390 yoke. I plan to go to San Jose Driveline and talk with them.  I also picked up a 3 spoke steering wheel that I plan ob restoring later on. It has one crack in it.
So where are the pictures of the dash? I hear some really nice guys helped you wrestle it in.
.  You guys were great help thank you Fy1Cuda and 4speedfish. I can't do any pictures yet of it because my freakin computer got a virus from another forum while trying to research about Hemi break in.   :banghead:       As far as going to Carlisle, I'm in the middle of a job transition. Details later if it all goes well which I think it has up till now.

Steering column is done.

I had to take it all apart because the key cylinder was wiped out. Everything lubed. I just need to put the coupler on which I have a rebuild kit for it.

What I learned if you decide to put the bearing on the end is:

1.) Roloc sand the shaft down to get clearance so the bearing will slide on the shaft without having to hammer or press it on.

2.) Do not try to lower the bearing on from the top. The clearances are 1.005 at the beginning and the bearing will get stuck causing you to destroy it in order to get it off.   :banghead:
Engine compartment is 90% ready for install.

Not much left once the new furniture gets paid off.   ::)

H pipes
Radiator re cored
Shorten driveshaft
Ride Tech front shocks
front bumper re chromed
clutch kit

Curious if the radio is an r35 option on the tag? Mine has it (r35) but I am missing the radio in my car and its an April built car and I was told it may have been built late enough it could have the 72 and later am FM radio

A new Mc Leod clutch installed with the 833 today.

Also picked up my 959 radiator from the radiator shop.
Just had it re cored and a few bumps smoothed out.

Gameplan today was put the engine in.

Today was a disaster.   :pullinghair:

First the engine dipstick tube broke off. So I went over to O'Reilly's and bought an aftermarket one.
Cut the end off and welded, grinded it to it would work again.
Came out pretty good and you can't see the re work.
The heat cover sleeve hides the repair.

Then the real disaster happened.

With the front of the car hoisted up by the cherry picker, engine in underneath ready to lower the body onto:

The little T on the Cherry picker where the handle goes into, was over to one side so I couldn't release and lower the body down. I was gently tapping on it to center the pin. Then the whole car came flying down onto the engine fast. Luckily Bob or Owen weren't under who were helping me today.

The damage could've been alot more significant than what happened.
Next week-end I should have it back to looking like it was before the disaster.
