Gameplan today was put the engine in.
Today was a disaster.
First the engine dipstick tube broke off. So I went over to O'Reilly's and bought an aftermarket one.
Cut the end off and welded, grinded it to it would work again.
Came out pretty good and you can't see the re work.
The heat cover sleeve hides the repair.
Then the real disaster happened.
With the front of the car hoisted up by the cherry picker, engine in underneath ready to lower the body onto:
The little T on the Cherry picker where the handle goes into, was over to one side so I couldn't release and lower the body down. I was gently tapping on it to center the pin. Then the whole car came flying down onto the engine fast. Luckily Bob or Owen weren't under who were helping me today.
The damage could've been alot more significant than what happened.
Next week-end I should have it back to looking like it was before the disaster.
