New guy here
« on: October 23, 2006 - 08:16:21 PM »
First off im a long time Mopar fan. i had a 1972 Cuda. it had a transplanted 440. Im hoping i can get another one someday. maybe even the one i had to give up. I was national gaurd and went active duty in 2000. My parents had just divorced and the only stuff i really owned were a surf board and the car. due to a messy divorce my mom needed help with rent and my two sisters. long story short, things were messy there and i went active. i gave the car to her landlord in exchange for a couple months rent. tough times call for tough measures. i have people back home trying to get in touch with the guy i handed her over too. im not too hopefull though, he probably knows hell be able to get more than ill be able to give him. anyway, i look forward to reading about your cars and hopefully gaining some knowledge.

Welcome Beetle,

Sorry about all of the turmoil you have gone through but there are others out there.  Maybe when the time is right you can reunite with your old one.

Welcome to the forum Beetle!  That is a sad story indeed.  Do you have any old pictures of it?

Anyway, glad you found us and keep an eye on the "Cars For Sale" section.

sorry no pics. i wish i had, trust me haha. i thought i could wait for pics after i had it painted. it was primer grey at the time. i remember that the engine wasnt numbers matching, but it was a true Cuda. all the body was original and it still had the black high spoiler and exhaust tips. black interior with the 727 slapstick shifter. i was 19 at the time and lucked onto the car while i was making decent money. every where i went i got thumbs up and older guys would drive along side me on the highway and smile. i just finised 9 years in the military, im doing full time college and hopefully when im done with the asociates degree(it wont let me put two S' haha) and my A&P ill get the type of job i want so i can afford another cuda.

:wavingflag:  Welcome, man.  The car will come.  I was looking for about 6 months when I got a phone call from a guy to look for one for me.  It was 5 minutes away in a guys shed.  Weird stuff happens, sometimes in a good way
