Quick vert top latch question.
« on: October 24, 2006 - 02:02:33 PM »
The latch on my 70 R/T vert top is dull and pitted.  Should they be chrome plated?
Thanks

Thanks Challenger 6pak - I thought so but wanted to make sure.  I'll put them in the box for re-chroming!

I will look at my originals tomorrow.  I am now questioning if they weren't just polished.  Are the Cuda one's chrome or polished?

I went and looked at mine.  First time in years.  It used to be shinny.  It doesn't look like chrome.  It is pot metal and plated.  The plating looks like the same material that was used on the spokes of the rim blow steering wheel.  I know the wheels can be replated.  I would guess that latches could be also.  I will need to do mine.  Maybe someone has done this and knows how and where to get them redone.
