Sorry, but the trailer will not get paint before Carlisle, good news is I will bring it.
One last option may become a needed requirement though. Trailer brakes. I have looked at many options here too. Hydraulic surge brakes (trailer is too light), electric brakes (wont work, unless I use a trailer axle) and electric over hydraulic.
It looks more like if I need to put brakes on this thing, it's going to cost. The electric over hydraulic is the way do go. Get a controler for in the car for electric brakes and a electric/hydraulic actuator. Then reinstall shoes and hardware in the drums on trailer and install lines. I left the hard lines on the axle and the flex line and wheel cylinders are still there.
A new wire harness will be needed also, it's got a 4 wire setup now.
Anyone out there into trailers?
