New to the site
« on: October 25, 2006 - 09:09:27 PM »
Just wanted to say hello. I have been mopar specific since 1969 when I started driving my coronet. I have been owning e bodies since 1976. I own 2 now. Just got my 30x40 shop built today, just in time for cold weather.  My cars I have now are a
70 fc7 barracuda with the M46 option. It's a 4 speed car. Was a 318 But I now have it as a 440-6  4spd 410 8.75. I bought the car out of the desert in Ca. it was in a garage since 1975. Yeah no rust but I am still re assembling it. My other car is a triple black 74 challenger. It's a 440/727/355 fun car. Yes I am a big block person from long ago. I will try to post some pics here now for everyone to see my cars. I also have a 72 cuda. It sets on a bickel tube chassis. It's an NHRA car so I guess I don't need to post it. Here's my projects... Nice to meet everyone too

Thanks for the compliments on my cars.  I bought the challenger for 900 bucks, it was a hull when I got it. It was bought from a 66 year old man that has a green 73 challenger he got new. He was stripping this car to make his look good. So I have been buying everything I could afford to put it back on the road. I live in an all chevy area for circle track cars, so when I find any mopar parts, I jump on them. None of my cars will be show cars, they are built to drive. And I build them myself.  But I assemble them the best I can. I will start on building the new front end today on the challenger, and putting the barracuda doors together. The fenders and rest of the front end pieces will be put on in 3 weeks or so.  I hope to be offering some parts to swap and sell with everybody, plus help in any diagnostic problems when I see where I can help. As you can see, I got a 72 bumper on my 70 plymouth, so I will be looking at the parts store here.  :money: Go easy on me, my money tree has lost it's leaves for the winter, just like everyone else.

Well here's a partial pic of my engine that is in my 72 cuda. Not 1 stock factory part on it. I will not boast about the hp and tq numbers, but the weight of the car with me in it is under 2600 lbs.  I will dig up more pics as I find them and try to reduce them down. I am on dial up.  very slow here.

The 72 cuda used to run a 9.72 in the quarter as a ladder bar street car. It also weighed 3780 back then. It went through a major change 5 years ago. Now as you see, it's a molly tube chassis car cert to 6.50 but will only run a 7.95/8.05 or in that general area. It does 60' at a 1.19 and a 1.18.  I'm gettin too old to run it around the 1/4 mile tracks and keep healthy enough for my liscense, so I will just be running 1/8th mile here local every once in a while. I like to play and build my street cars more now adays. I get more thrills out of just cruisin.  I thought about installing that 1028 hp 499 in my street car for a bit, but at 15/1 compression and the cost of fuel just for starters, not to mention with 790 ft lbs of tq it would just tare up my suspention. I would need mounting plates too. So It won't get drove much. I sure used to have fun with that cuda. Here's some of the toys I have. I just sold my dart last month, I never got to race it much
