All in all a productive day. Got the two windshield corners in, and patched the frame rail. Everything welded in fast but then there was a lot of time grinding  :pullinghair:

Oh yeah I also used my "Easy Grind" wire today, as was pleasently surprised how nice it was. Both in the welding and the grinding.

Wow,  :faint:  I don't check in for a while and look what you've done!! Looks good, your a metal master for sure. I work for Praxair but not the package gas div, but the BAG division (bulk atmospheric gas). cryogenic technician, so I don't get into the retail end of things, not real sharp on the weld wire types but looks like someone got you the right stuff, great to see such nice work, hope to see more and more pages to come.

Thanks

Pic A - that was a  good piece to make on the shrinker/stretcher. About as close as I could get it with what I had, just took some fancy grinding to make it look good.

Pic B - Before

Pic C - Had three spots on the top of the windshield like this. used the shrinker/stretcher here too.

Pic D - Cleaned the cowl one last time then used DX579 and DX520 don't know if I am sold on it yet or not.

Pic E - Painted with three coats of Zero Rust. Laid very nice and is easy to spray

Pic F - Also did where the inner fenders will cover. Will go back and clean up where ther plug welds will go and hit it with some weld through primer.

Need more time to work on this  :crying:

The Zero Rust layed down very well with my cheap gun that I have. I was really surprised at its preformance. The shrinker/stretcher has been a great Harbor Frieght on sale for $75 tool that has more then paid off for itself.

Hey Lunch, what is this and where did you get it? I have been looking for something like that. The pneumatic recip saw that is. BTW, you are doing an awesome job man. I hope to start taking mine apart this spring.

I bought that body saw from harbor frieght for $40 bucks. Then a week or two ago it was on slae for $10 bucks  :banghead: Anyways it is a pretty neat little deal. It has its place right next to my 3 in cutoff wheel. The saw works good when the steel around it is secure, not half hanging off a work bench, then the metal just wants to move with the saw. For 40 bucks I was impressed.

OOps! My bad! Somehow I missed that. :eek7:

I finished up painting and rewelding the cowl back on the car. Should give me a good starting point when I dive back into the project.
