   Nice work! I've been there too... Its a lot of work.  Where did you get the rust desolver with the pink solution? I just picked up a 72 Lincoln Mark IV for $400.00 that's been sitting for 17 years and it has some light rust on the trunk.  Thanks!

I got it at Fleet Farm its made by Permatex I was just testing it out, I will probably use the muriatic acid I picked up instead, its not as thick and should get down into the deeper pinholes.

Lunch, you sent several items to SMS, is your heater box going to be sent there as well? I just picked mine up from the shop that's restoring my car. It's a little more than they would like to tackle so i plan to send SMS my rear view mirror, hood hinges, and heater box; later on the door hinges as well. Good idea not trying to have everything done at one time and instead spread the cost out.

Onefornow, I sent my heater box to them going on over a year now. I just don't have any pics of it, It is all nice and toasty wrapped up in bubble wrap in a wood shipping crate still. When I did inspect it, it looked really good. The only thing I will do is send a few of the nuts and brackets off to be plated that SMS just painted. Other than that I have been pretty happy with everything. I would have taken a few things to the next level if I did it but it was worth the money.

I got the firewall done!    well not comletely just a little more finish grinding.


So I decided to start fixing the lower windshield corners. I got the repo pieces from Dave at Rosesville  They fit was great and I only had to really tweak one area (shown in pic C) The repo part had a little higher profile then the original, easy fix though.

They are nice only a little tweaking and they fit great. The metal thickness between the two are about the same also. I cleaned up the firewall, threw some paint on it. Then I finished cleaning the pass side lower windshield corner, and checked how it fits. The pass side fits better then the driverside. Don't get me wrong, its not a bad fit there is just one spot weld that isn't touching form the old panel to the new. I think it due to but joint on the a-pillar.

The worst part was after I thought I had all the little pinholes in the firewall filled yesterday, I checked again today and sure enough there was more. I have to turn the lights off then I shine a flashlight from the backside and look on the front for light coming through.

Lastly I fixed the one rusty spot on my driver side front frame rail. Here is some picks of what is behind that little hole.

I got a good days work in today. I started by taking the rest of the windshield trim clips of that were to rusty to get with the screw driver. Then scraped off the majority of windhshield adhiesive off. Then I pushed the car outside and suited up in my tyvek suit and started blasting a few slected areas. It was about 84 degs with a full blazing sun.
