Package deal 73 Cuda
« on: October 27, 2006 - 09:06:35 PM »
Hi everyone.

I decided  tonight it was time to get started  on the 73. If anyone remembers the post "about as bad as a body can get" this is the better of the three cars I got. It has some rust issues but is numbers matching and my first Cuda so here I go again.  :screwy: To give a little info on it it is a 73 340 four speed with ralley dash, rear defog,fe5 red 355 surgrip. After I got it running and drove it around the parking lot for a little while I was hooked ;D I'll post pictures as I make progress.Hope to have it completly disassembled by Monday.
Dave

It looks like you are going to move right along if you keep going at it at the rate you are now.

In a way that is why I'm starting on the Cuda,I may have to let the Challenger go to finance a shop building we are going to build.Hoping not have to sell the green car but haven't decided yet and I want a car to drive so the Cuda may be it.

Nice project Farmboy, best of luck with the restoration. What's the B body in the background? Is that a 69 Superbee or?

Well here are some end of the day shots. It was a all day affair to day.Looks like tomorrow will be clean up day, when you can't find the floor anymore it's time to clean up. :smilielol:The underside is in pretty good shape.
The car behind is a 69 Super Bee. We recieved the car as you see it,I don't know if it is a real lift off hood car or not but it has the hood brackets. That one will be brite Green.
Anyone is wellcome to stop by any time.

Wow nice progress, looks like were at the same stage on the almost same exact car . Were even in neighboring states LOL.  The only diff is you have the facilities, must be very nice to be able to work through the winter or the crappy rainy days!   What are you doing for fenders? Mine are shot, not even repairable!

That is the most disgusting part, isn't it?  Like cleaning out the couch cushions after 30 years...Yuck!  I don't mind getting greasy and gimey, but that dirty nasty stuff in and under the carpet, is just awful.  Aren't you glad that's over?!? :roflsmiley:

The car's progress is going great!!! :2thumbs:  I'm so glad I'm at least past the cleaning stage of the restoration...I had to clean out around 3 or 4 dead mice during the stripdown...I can still smell that aweful smell. :eek4:
