w00t for 4spd cars!  in my short experience, the cleaning part of the build is much, much worse than the metal replacement stage.  are you gonna have to replace your floors?  keep up the work, you're making amazing progress.   :working:

Time for a update, disassembly is finally finished now it's time to start building back up,got it back from the blaster and removed all the metal that will be replaced :scared:.Not much to look at now but it will start to go together soon. Some parts are on backorder so guess I'll have to work around them.

Looks like a great project. I have a 340 auto console 72 Petty blue car /CUDA that I bought in 1978 and sold in 1981. Bought it back in 1998( yes the same car) Its waiting for the same resto your doing but I was waiting for the new full quarters :dunno: dont know if they are ever coming.

I will be watching your resto very closely.

Hi Lawfish
If you can hold out for the 1/4 panels it will be worth it.The Challenger panels work really well on my 71. I am going with the partial panels on this one as the promise date is not writen in stone and I want this car done for this coming summer.I talked to Goodmark on the one peice trunk floor and they are do in about 2 weeks .I ordered the 2 piece ones just in case. If the 1 piece show up in time I'll use it.
When you get going on your car be sure to post pictures  :picture:. It sounds like a great car. I really enjoy watching projects move along.

Looks like this week-end I'm not making to much progress on it. I decided to get the rusted cowl off and work the dash area. This area will need to be finished first before the new inner fenders can be welded on. There will be a lot of time consuming work to get this cowl ready to reinstall. I hope to have some better progress pictures next week end. I did manage to find some fenders this week though, one needs the headlight bucket worked on but all in all better than the ones I have. If Mopar had just dipped these cars another foot none of us would be repairing this area. :pullinghair:
I may try to get something more done before the week-end is out but it's not looking to good right now.
Good luck everyone
Dave

Hello everyone
Thought I'd add a update,I have been working evenings to get the metal work finished. All of the engine compartment is done as the the sheetmetal order arrived. All the metal is done back to the rear half. The car had been wrecked at one time the tail light panel, gas tank, right frame rail, and trunk floor panel were replaced or repaired long ago. The metal work was done old style, meaning straightened and brazed. Some of the rear cross member wasn't even welded, just one bolt holding it all together. Anyway here are some pictures.

Did you repair the cowl?  Mine had rusted a-pillars too, but gone totally   Mine was also wrecked at one time too, just fixed the front frame section with a new piece where is was brazed in.  Sure are lots of work, but makes the winter time go much faster

We removed the cowl and cut away the the whole left side to hand to form a patch for that area,it would be nice if some one would repop this panel as they always rust there. I can't take credit for that patch as I had one of my employees make it. He is very tallented in hand forming detailed areas like that. Here is a before and after on it.
