Snap-on makes a nice air powered crimping tool that works great for laying a stepped flange for these type panels. That is what I used to set the panel edge.  The skin type panels aren't stamped very well in some areas so I remove the door opening part to save the crisp edge and the factory spot welds when I can. When the full quarters come out for the Cudas and if they are as good as the Challengers they are a much better way to go ,I just can't wait for them to arrive and am trying to be in paint by Christmas.
Adding the color in the trunk makes it much easier to cover when painting in the hard to reach areas of the trunk.

The new one piece trunk floor arrived today , it looks GREAT. The trunk weather strip rails look good also. These will make this part of the repair much easier.

Today's progress was the trunk pan , drop extensions , weather strip panel. Still a lot of trimming and fitting to do for the tail light panel and I left the lower part of the quarter panels loose to fit the splash pan. The trick to in stalling the drop extensions seems to be to rework the front triangle area where it meets the wheel house. It seems to be bent about a 1/2 inch on the long side. Once that was re-bent they fit in pretty well. A lot of edge trimming to do yet but coming along.
The first picture shows the outline of the frame rails with the pan laying in the trunk, I take a paint dauber and mark the out side of the rails and then dab where the original spot welds were. All that is left is to drill the holes for plug welding. After all that marking I only missed on three holes, not too bad. :dunno:
Tomorrow it's on to the tail light panel, this will take some time , it had been brazed on from a replacement from the accident and needs a lot of rebuilding.
One bone head move I made was to forget to install the jack mount on the left wheel house before installing the quarter :icon16: ,that made for a lot of finagling to get in and weld.

Hi everyone
I haven't been able to connect to this site for almost two day's now and it was sporadic for a few day's before that :dunno:.
Here is a update on the work so far.
The trunk and rear section metal work is almost done , just a lot of grinding and checking of seams and welds. Should be able to put it up on the rotisserie this week-end to finish this part. I may add torque boxes and frame tie also.
HAVE A GOOD WEEK-END
Dave
