AlterKtion Suspension is a Dream!!
« on: October 28, 2006 - 05:36:28 AM »
Swapped out the old K-member suspension for the new AlterKtion suspension, Power Rack & Pinion Steering, with Varishock coilovers and Wilwood disc brakes polished.

Unbelievable - less than a 2 day job with removal & installation.

Major problem has been the Indy Maxx Hemi Block - not sure if this is related to the aluminum block but the Main Bearing Cross Bolts on the sides of the block near the bottom hit the motor mounts on both sides and header tube (TTi) on the driver side

Would be better if all the bolts were countersunk - the first and last bolts on each side are countersunk and it looks like all could easily be countersunk.

Will talk to Indy re: this, Schumacher supplies the motor mounts for Bill Reilly's set up.

Converted over to the Flaming River Polished Tilt Column - again all was completed in less than 2 days.

Next week - Pull motor again and begin all final fitment & completion - starting Thursday - Saturday

Don't know if we will be able to start her up then but I will keep all posted.

Sorry Wife misplaced dig camera charger - did take pics with mechanic's dig so pics are coming

What he said.

Approximately, how many hours of work is it to have the Alterktion installed?

Hey,

I know a certain "young Gun" who could use some left side suspension parts.  Think you might be able to help out his Yellow fish??????

Hey Goody,

Cudabuyer might be a good person to get parts from, since he won't be needing them any more.
Just a thought.

We removed the old suspension starting last Thursday about 10am, 1 hour for lunch, worked til 6:30pm = 7 1/2 hours

Friday completed installation around 5pm started at 8 am, 1 hr for lunch, about 2 hrs doing other work = 6hrs

total time 13 1/2 hours includes Wilwood brake install.

You're right about this thread being worthless.

All tell and no show???

BTW, proof is in the pudding when you actually drive the car w/the new front end.  Although I doubt you'll find fault w/it.

I am still kicking around ideas for the front suspension of my car.  What brake package did you use?  I saw that you said Wilwood, but which one?
