This car is a v code challenger, with LOTS of rust issues.  The original engine is long gone, and I don't know if the transmission is original or not.  However, it DOES have the dana 60 in it, and there's a broadcast sheet to back up the dashboard VIN and fender tag.  The car is white with a black interior, and the odometer reads 60,000 miles.  I'd guess that's correct due to the fact that the car last had a current tag in 1977.  By the way, I do have what I think are the original rallye wheels.  I took three of them off to put other tires on so I could get it up on the trailer.

Here's a list of what's wrong with the car:  Does not have original engine, needs roof replaced (due to rust in roof pillars), needs driver's side front floor replaced, needs transmission crossmember replaced on at least the driver's side, needs trunk floor.  The driver's side won't stay up off the bumpstop because the rusted crossmember won't resist the twisting action of the torsion bar.  Driver's side tie rod is broken, though I don't see evidence of any impact (?)  Last thing-the hood is rusted to hell and back on the support webbing.  Could possibly be fixed with webbing from another hood, but I doubt it's worth it-a new hood is only about $600.  The inserts are still good as far as I can tell.

Obviously, what I have is a car that ordinarily would not be restored.  What sets it apart from that is the fact that it is a genuine v code dana car.  This car is located in Alabama, and as such has no title.  Bill of sale is sufficient to transfer ownership on pre-'75 cars in AL.  I'm asking $11,500.  Please pm me for more info.

*Edit*  The engine currently in the car is not included in the sale of the car.  The transmission IS included in the sale of the car.

I hope I'm not way out of line on the price-I've seen plenty of cars that rusty and worse get saved.  One thing for sure-it's not so far gone as to end up being a rebody.  LOTS more than that is intact.  I've tried to be really honest in the ad, to the point of maybe slightly exaggerating the car's faults.

You are so funny Mr. Clown but to be honest I did not get past the first line before I thought of you. Please save it and just for the record I get a lot of inspiration from your projects. My car is solid for the most part but if I ever get tired of taking it apart with bolts rusted on and so forth, I just think of your projects and tell myself to quit complaining and get back to work. I think you should change your name to rust bucket hero.

Clown, absolutely no offense was taken.  I'm glad I'm not COMPLETELY wacko on the price.  Your car looks salvageable too, just with a lot of work!  Speaking of 340 cars, I do have ANOTHER challenger that's in 100 times better shape than the 6 pack car.  It's a '73 340 slapstick auto car that runs.  It has a 318, but it also has very little rust.  I'm probably gonna post it up for sale soon-I've found I just don't have the time to devote to it, and I don't want it to go downhill and rust away.

Is the build date on your 73 in March?

Thanks!

The funniest thing about this particular signature is that by the time you realize it doesn't say anything it's to late to stop reading it.

I dunno.  It's stored at a buddy's house.  Lemme give him a call and see if he can step out and check real quick.

*Edit* He didn't answer the phone-I'll run over there and see.  He only lives about 5 minutes away.

I think you should buy it.  Let me see---a 340 challenger rust bucket vs restored value and fun= 6.5
Now a v code 440-6 challenger rt rust bucket vs restored value and fun 10 yes 10 :cooldancing:  :hyper: :wow: :woohoo:   Your mind is acting right clown. Not only would you have a great time restoring a bb e body but just driving it would be twice the thrill as a 340. Then the value would top the scale for when you swap over to a plymouth. Yes the barracuda, the true e body of the mopar class cars. :roflsmiley: :bigshades: :droolingbounce: :burnout:  :misbehaving:

That is a really clean 200SX in that picture, moparal.  Don't see too many of those anymore!

v8440, Your Chally sure is a nice car.  If I didn't have such a large project myself, I would be interested in that one.
