Whats in store for my broken fish

Well it's gonna be awhile before the ol' Fish gets road worthy again. But it will come back, and better than before. Only catch is I have no clue on the time frame due to waiting on the insurance and what will happen with all that, should be within a year I'm guesstimating. However, here is, currently, what the changes will be.

    Brakes/Suspension/Steering/Chassis
    • Stock supension components fully rebuilt it Moog suspension parts.
    • Flaming River Manual Steering
    • 11 3/4" Late B-Body 'Police' front discs - New calipers, lines, pads, bearings, etc
    • New Late Model (Alum/2stud) Master Cylinder - Manual brakes w/adj proportioning valve
    • CE Subframe Connectors
    Body/Looks
    • Plan is to get the entire car repainted, same color/stripe scheme
    • Engine bay painted, detailed, holes welded
    • New (used) Fender, Valance, Inner fender
    • Car will go on a frame machine to make sure it is correct, looks right, but will be for sure checked
    • Drivers floor replaced - Canada car, does have some rust. I already have the metal.
    • Possibly A 'Cuda Rallye Hood
    • Entertaining the idea of 17" front and 18x10" rear Mustang Bullitt style wheels (black of course) w/a spring relocation
    Engine
    • My 360 Will be going in
    • .509 MP cam (already have, with new lifters)
    • Stock Magnum heads
    • Magnum AirGap intake
    • TTI headers

    You have some work ahead but it will be a worthwhile effort.  Good luck. 

    FYI, The 509 cam is pretty big in a 360 with an automatic.  Big gears, high stall and manual brakes (read low vacuuum signal) can make that combo work.  I had a 509 in my 72 cuda with a 440 and it had little power below 3000-3500 rpm.

    Well...i have big gears, big stall and will have manual brakes. So sounds right up my alley  :ylsuper:, I have 3.91s witha  low gear set in the 904 and a 9 1/2" dynamic converter that footbrakes to 3,500rpm with the 318. Nothing I've bought in like the past year (performance wise) has been planned for the 318, its been planned to support a bigger motor....which, here we are. Hense why i have 3/8" fuel line head to toe with a blue pump, the s/s springs w/adj drag shocks, the converter, the gearing, alum radiator with a nice elect fan, etc, etc  :bigshades:


    You guys just wait until i learn how to weld. I'll really start making some progress then with the floors, subframes inner fender, welding up all the holes and such under the hood.  :bigsmile:

    Sounds like a great plan.  I just hope the 904 will be able to handle the extra power from the 360.

    Is your 509 cam the one with the new 114 degree lobe seperation?

    beats me. its not my car, i didnt pay for it.  :clueless: :lol:

    And I'm not tooooo worried about the 904. I have a 998 that can use a rebuild waiting if need be.  :icon16:

    I'd consider tubular upper control arms as well.

    I'd consider tubular upper control arms as well.

    I have free stockers off a challenger. Can I ask why (i think $300) tubular control arms come recommended?

    The car will handle much better as you will gain more positive caster. Makes it steer much more like a modeern car. Just put a set in my Swinger, wow what a difference.

    Interesting, what did that set you back, and who did you get them from. And since I know 'devil' is around here thinking I'm full of taking handouts, they are off my dads challenger since he, well Chip, doesn't plan on using them.  :cooldancing:

    Yes there is a flat f-glass hood with a 6pack scoop on it in my garage I got at MATs. The scoop needs a lot of work to finish it and make it look right. A lot of the underbracing was removed by the previous owner...doubt ill use it.

    Hey Goody, do you think you might be able to ask your dad what amount he paid in shipping on that hood? Knowledge  is power and I could use a little bit if you know what I mean.

    Hey Goody, before you go and buy those S/S springs, keep your springs and get a set of those Cal-Trac's they are pretty awesome if your still going to bracket race the car. S/S springs are ok, but you'll have to change the front spring hangers. Cal-Trac at least are adjustable and with a adjustable rear shock that might be the ticket..Good Luck with everything. If you need that K-member the offer is still on....Vin....

    I actually have had the s/s springs for a few months now in the car. I only paid like $115 for them shipped so it's not too bad.
