70 71 Challenger Fender Differences?
« on: October 29, 2006 - 06:39:48 PM »
Could someone post pics of the differences between 70 and 71 Challenger fenders. I remember but haven't found the thread where it's mentioned that it would be in the headlight bucket area? Thanks in advance

I think this is what you are looking for,the 70 doesn't have this notch.

the inner headlights do not seem to be as recessed as well on the 71

Why was there a change? What is the notch for?

Thanks farmboy70!! That's perfect

Chryco I do know the headlight bezels are not as deep on a 70 as on a 71. Makes sense that the headlight buckets as well as the headlights themselves would not be as recessed as far :thinkerg:

Thank you both :)

I measured out the 70 & 71 headlight bucket on fenders here. They measure out the same distance from the front edge of the fender.  I believe the notch is the only main difference.

I have noticed that the inner headlight sits 1/4" forward using a 71 fender with a 70 grille

You should be able to weld a piece to make it look the same the only thing is that would the head light bucket fit right?
