    A66 340 Perf Package Pic (wanted)

    Does anyone have a pic of a 70 or 71 challenger with the A66 Challenger 340 performance package? I would espcially be interested in a 71 vert with that option.

    What are you looking for as far as pic's go(car,engine,ect)Mine is an 70 A66 hardtop and is all apart right now.

    I have a 71 convertible as was considering a clone.  I was curious about the bumblebee stripe in 71 and the scat pack decal.  Was also trying to see if any cars had the 71 longitude stripes with the bb stripe.  Also, was curious about the wheels and tire size that routinely came on the car.  I assumed the 340 looked like any other.  I think both Hemi orange and MOPAR blue were used depending on the production date.  Also, since I have never seen this option at a show, I wondered if there were any still out there.

    A66 was only available for 1970.

    Challenger 340 Performance Package (A66)
    340 Engine, E60X15 inch raised white letter tires, performance hood, heavy duty brakes, heavy duty suspension, Bumble Bee paint stripe, Scat Pack (Bee) decal, wheel lip moulding is deleted.





    I heard that all 340's came with this option can someone confirm this. Also is there a way to figure out how many A66 cars were built?

    All 1970 340 Challengers were A66 package cars with one exception, the Challenger T/A. The package code for the T/A is A53.

    Production of the A66 cars totaled 6,933 for the US, Canadian and Export totals are not known.

    Barry thanks for the info, does it break down any farther with color or anyhting like that?

    I searched a little bit but is there already a thread out there with all the productions numbers on it for all various different combinations of the Challenger for comparison?

    1972 Dodge Challenger Rallye 340, AT, Code TB3=Super Blue, SBD=8/17/1971.  Yes, a Rallye without the fender louvers from the factory because of the body side molding option.

    The only color breakdown that I have seen lumps all JH models together from /6 to T/A and all in between. Since most people want to know exactly how many were made in thier exact color it is of little use since there is no way break it down that way.

    For the numbers, I have seen a breakdown of them online someplace but I do not remember where?

    1) Turn your caps off.
    2) As Barry stated all Challengers with 340 engines were A66 cars in 1970 except the T/A.
    3) Since the 340 wasnt available on the R/T it wasnt the same as an R/T w/o the badges.

    Wow, this was one of my first posts.  Lot's of things changed over that time. I still have that convertible sitting in a thousand pieces but I did manage to get a coupe on the road :)
