Hi-Performance Mopar magazine from the 1992-1994 period had quite a few articles following the purchase and rebuild of a 1971 340 convertible owned by Dave Ferro (of Totally Auto) at the time.

All 1970 340 Challengers were A66 package cars with one exception, the Challenger T/A. The package code for the T/A is A53.

Production of the A66 cars totaled 6,933 for the US, Canadian and Export totals are not known.

Interesting, for 1972, that's almost the same number of 340 Rallye cars made, I think like 6,902 or something like that...

Total all 340 Challengers in 1970   was 6933   (343+1830+2360+2400)
of those produced, they break down in the following manner

I own a Y1 A66 Challenger automatic
Specifically, the A66 package was only available in 1970
You could order a 340 in 1971 in a hardtop and convertible and in JH and JS forms
