Hood Pins
« on: October 30, 2006 - 11:31:07 AM »
I'm am SOOO new to body work, so please excuse the ignorance, but are hood pins hard to install?  I've got a 73 that I was thinking of putting some on.  I like the way they look.

Thanks,

The hardest part is getting up enough nerve to drill holes in your hood! :grinyes:  Really it's not that difficult.  Here's a page from our website that shows some pictures of how we did it.   http://www.ridesthatrock.com/html/trim___details.html

I found some hood pins for sale locally, but wanted to be sure they were the right kind.  Can someone look at the pic and tell me if they are right?  they look right, but I just want to be sure.

Those don't look like the heavy duty ones that Year One sells (that's where we got ours).  Notice the difference in the circle plates...the picture below (from Y1) looks thicker.

Couldn't remember so I went and measured.  Looks like we got the 18" ones.
