Hope someone can help
« on: October 31, 2006 - 01:07:37 PM »
I have the opertunity to buy a frame from a wrecked 2004 Durango with the 5.7 Hemi.  The body has been removed as well as the rad.  The engine, trans, both diffs (4 wheel drive), computer, three of the alum wheels (and facory spare), computers, brake stuff (abs controller, m.c.) is all there.  The vehicle got rolled and totaled the body.  The guy wants $3500 for everything there.  My thought is to buy the hulk and part out everything for the purchase price, but keep the engine.  Does anyone out there think that this could be plausable?  Plus everthing would have to go fairly quickly since I would probably have to borrow the money.  What do you all think?

I dont see you making any good money from the deal if you keep the engine. The rest of it isnt in big demand as far as I see it. I could be wrong tho, but it seems like a lot of time for a little if any profit. :dunno:

:iagree: I doubt there is big demand for those parts except maybe for a body shop but they usually just call the local wrecker not buy private party.
