    Reattached mine with fine threaded screws and nylon locknuts today. Thanks for the info. Hope the owner finds their data plate and whoever took it.

    That'll pay off in the end. We can't watch our cars when the hood is up all of the time.  Turn your screws in a non aligned fashion so you will notice it they are ever turned by anyone else.
