New guy here and my recently finished 70 Cuda vert clone!
« on: November 06, 2006 - 11:08:41 AM »
Just wanted to say hi, I am new here but not the hobby, had mopars since 1978 when I was still in HS. Had a 340 Petty blue Cuda then, sold it in 1981 and bought the very same car back in 1998.Its still waiting for a resto.
I have recently finished this car. I am no pro and no purist. This car was started 10 years ago when clones were new and I kind of lost interest with all the hype but recently just repainted it in STANDOX, viper red. It had 7 year old Viper red with zero miles on it when we repainted it.
Most if not all of the work was done here in my shop at home. Car was originally a 70 318 Grand coupe vert, now has 440-6, I bought this car for $7800 with the real 70 shaker hood on it. Needed a drivers side quarter panel, so I put one on it or a friend did, its offof a AAR that was totaled, so the antenna hole is now in back.

Its not totaly done, the bumpers need to be redone and I am going to put modern gauges into it as I dont like the rallys and their poor reliability and dont want to pay a fortune to have them restored.

I have other E bodies but this is the only one finished or close to it.

Enjoy the pics.

4Cruizn,  yes I want the road lamps and more but I have had this car for 10 years and my son wanted to get it into a local show. We threw the parts on it that we had not finished. He installed parts whiel I painted the deck lid, front and rear valances, ect.

I hate to pay for the real ones (ROAD LAMPS)but sooner or later will buy and get some on it. I also have the grille red bars that we forgot to install. We were literally painting the tail panel the morning of the show and intalling the tail panel trim. Its not perfect my any means. I have my link and sig up and working now, which goes to my website. We have 10 or so cars but none are finished and most are in various states of :working:

I have spent the last three years adding on 2300 sq ft of shop onto my 900 sq ft 3 car original shop. Could have finished a car or two in that time frame but we built every inch of this shop ourselves, my son now age 16, me and one buddy during framing. So now its car time

Welcome to the forum Lawfish!  Beautiful car :clapping:  I love how you did the interior.  Somtimes red on red is just toooo much red, but the black really makes it look sweet.

Glad you found us!

btw...so what does your 16 year old drive since he's worked so hard in helping you out??

Welcome to the site Lawfish. The Cuda is a real looker and the interior really sets the red body off. Stick around and enjoy the site.
