Thanks!
Basically, I used to be into the older cars (primarily Fords and Mopars) back in the 80s but got out of them for a while. Started tuning newer cars in the 90s but after rebuilding a 72 Triumph TR6 for my wife, I decided I needed another pony car/muscle car. I bought the Challenger 2 years ago from one of my old friends I knew in the 80s. I have the BS and Window Sticker for the car. Car is orginally B7 with Black Interior. It started out as an Insurance Beater 318 3spd car but was ordered with all the neat stuff, Swaybars, Rallye Guage, HD Brakes etc. My friend and the previous owner did a mild resto in the 80s and began to make a T/A replica out of the car. He collected many T/A and AAR pieces but he did all of the appearance items and never got around to doing the drivetrain. Car was his daily driver for years and has almost 300K on the drivetrain. He had collected some of the T/A drivetrain items but never put them in the car. I am now in the process of tearing it down for a complete resto. Still trying to decide the color but most likely the car will be EV2 or EK2. Car will have 340 6 pack and 4 speed when done.
The 65 Barracuda is a really intersting story. I owned the car in High School and restored it with my father in the mid 80s. We had done a 66 Mustang (my first car) and I enjoyed working on it with my dad so I started looking for another project. My dad had bought a brand new Barracuda in 65 just like this one and I found this car so we could restore it together. Technically, this was my 2nd car but really felt like it was my Dad's more than mine. Poor economy forced me to sell it in the late 80s. I always felt bad about selling it..I know my dad was disappointed. He died several years later. I had looked around for it for a while but never could find the car. After buying the Challenger above, was talking to some folks and got a lead on it's wearabouts. It changed hands about 5 times and some owners were kind and others not so kind. Found the car and it was in need of resto again. but I bought the car back and plan on restoring it after the Challenger. Car still has the original sales slip from 1965 and all the paperwork with it since it was new. Including paperwork and parts that I put on it back in the 80s.
