Dip Stick

I broke my Dip stick on my 340 so I am going to use the dip stick out of my 318.
But how the H$!! do you remove it.
I tried pulling it, heating it, etc. :villagers: :stirpot:

If the engine is still in the car good luck.... 

You will need to pull the engine, take off the oil pan and hammer the dipstick tube out with a dowel or punch.  This is really hard to do without the engine upside down on a stand, because of the angle of the hole in the block.  Also make sure you check that no debris got into the oil pan!

Both motors are already out of the car.
I broke the 340 dip stick when I was putting the motor in the back of my truck.

Might be a good idea, just incase the 318 dip stick is the wrong length.
