IDing an unknown spe PurpleShaft?
« on: November 08, 2006 - 12:36:42 AM »
I have, what i have been told, is a '.509 MP purpleshaft'.  I know nothing more on it, There are a couple cast numbers and such, is there any markings on it that give away what the specs would be? If not, just use a mic and check the lift? anyway to figure out the duration?

Thanks

Mic a lobe? or stick it in the motor and see how much the lifter goes up? micing a lobe i got .408...which cant be right x 1.5 = .612  :eek4:

Lobe measurement minus base circle X rocker ratio (1.5) = lift

So would the one on the left be the right spot to measure for the base circle? And the right would be the lobe measurement?  :clueless:

A) cant totally read a caliper mic
or
B) cant totally read a caliper mic

Because i'm coming up with like .6xx lift  :faint: I'm getting, what i think is 1.684 total lobe height, and pictured...what i think is 1.261 (.5)

Is that whats pictured? or am i just totally  :screwy:
