Which should I keep?
« on: November 08, 2006 - 01:15:37 PM »
I have 2 passenger side mirrors for a 70 Challenger. Both need to be re-chromed for my needs but just looking for some help in the decision on which one to keep and which one to sell to help fund the restoration. My car was born in 12-69. Which mirror glass is coded correct for my car.
One is 4-DMI-0
and the other is 9-DMI-9

Also
one mirror  the 4-DMI-0 has one set of numbers on the base 3454096 and the penastar but the other mirror  has the 3454096 the penastar and a number at the other end of the base of 152453 and on this mirror the date code on the mirror is upside down. it is on the bottom of the mirror.
Any help would be appreciated.

I have not looked into the mirror date codes yet, but the last number in each series is the year, so keep the 9, the 0 would be too late for a December car.

 :iagree:

My car was built early January 1970 and has the exact same numbers as your 9-DMI-9 mirror and is the original side mirror from the car.

Troipcalcats,

I'll help you fund the Challenger.  My built date is  7-30 so it would be fine on mine.  Let me know.
