I have to agree with WSM that giving him the cuda before he gets redeployed will give him a real uplift and we could always take it back and work on it some more while he`s deployed.

I thinking everyone is thinking to hard. Most bases have Auto Hobby Shops on the base. ( a garage where guys can go work on their cars) Did anyone think about contacting a commander on CudaGuy's base and tell them what we are trying to do and see if we can get some manpower from them? :dunno:

That might be work looking into, but I believe those facilities are for guys to do repairs on their cars, not for non-running projects. They only have a few stalls, and a lot of guys.

Sounds very interesting!  I've sent him an email asking for pictures.  I'll post here when/if they arrive.

What branch is he in again?  If it's Air Force or Marines, I work with TONS of people who can contact the right people at specific bases and try to get some help.  Air Force is our biggest customer, we've got 90+ simulators located throughout the world, so if someone could tell me where he's stationed at, I can look into it.

He's in the Army.  Here's a pic from last year.

Hmmm...the Army maybe more difficult, but if I know where's he's stationed, I can find out if my coworkers know anyone located where he's at.

What kind of help do you envision them giving?  Just curious.  BTW, he's in Ft. Campbell.

Well someone mentioned earlier that we could contact his commander:

and see if they could help.  All of my coworkers are retired military, so they've got some pull on knowing people and all, was thinking if we could find his commander, maybe they would help with donations from everyone  :clueless:?

I actually got a coworker who was stationed in Ft. Campbell!!!  He won't be in the office until Monday, but if it's ok with everyone, I'd like to ask him to find out who the commander is of CudaGuy and see if we can get his buddies to help out with some donations of any kind (body work, money, parts, etc.)

I don't know about the rest of you guys, but I have a weird feeling about asking folks from the military to help us honor someone in the military. I guess I feel like they've given enough and that we should be giving to them.  Just my 2 cents.

Well I thought about that and then I also thought they may be up for it.  They may look at it as helping their friend out??  Not too sure, don't want anyone to take this the wrong way, but if he's got any enemies in his squad, they may ruin it for him by speaking out......Ugh...too many things to think about!
