I'll have to look tomorrow around the brake booster. Where the hood hinges mount is rusty on both sides. Don't know about the drain. Under the rear seat seems solid, but I haven't whacked it with a hammer to see. The front frame rails seem solid, but I know the rear passenger side has a hole in it.

Maybe you can save this one!

Here are some photos of the areas you wanted. There may be some rust at the bottom of the firewall. Front floor is rusted out, so a good possibility. Don't know how to get a look at the cowl drain. Back floor appears solid.

Thanks, Mike

cowl drain is located very close to the middle of the firewall and is at the lowest point where the cowl and FW meet. Can be viewed from under the hood, and should have a black plastic flap covering the hole

No plastic flap, but I think this is it.

well you're getting warm, or at least this is what I think when someone says cowl drain. Its a popular spot for leaves and other foreign objects to accumulate and block drain flow. There is a rubber flap that covers this slot that only allows passage one way.

Ah-hah. Thanks Mike. Looks like it might be behind the distributor, but I'll try again tomorrow.

I think I finally found it! :woohoo:

It seems solid on the outside, but I reached under the flap and it felt like rust. Can't see in there though without taking the flap off.
